Grades 9-12
Academic Pathways at Atlantic Christian Academy
Atlantic Christian Academy offers a variety of academic pathways designed to meet students where they are and help them grow toward their individual goals. Every student is uniquely created by God, with different strengths, interests, learning styles, and aspirations. Our goal is to provide an academic experience that challenges each student appropriately while helping them develop confidence, character, and a lifelong love of learning.
Students at ACA receive a distinctive Christian education rooted in the Word of God and grounded in a strong college-preparatory curriculum. Within that foundation, students can select courses that best align with their academic readiness, interests, and future plans. Options include general studies, college-preparatory, honors, Advanced Placement, and dual-credit courses.
College Preparatory & General Studies
Our college-preparatory and general studies courses provide students with a strong academic foundation while allowing them to learn at a pace and level appropriate to their individual needs. These courses emphasize essential knowledge and skills, critical thinking, and practical application within a nurturing Christian environment.
Honors Courses
Honors courses provide additional depth and challenge for students who are ready to explore a subject more deeply. Students develop analytical and critical thinking skills through more extensive reading, research, projects, writing, and application. Honors coursework is designed for students who desire and are prepared for a greater level of academic challenge.
Advanced Placement Courses
Advanced Placement (AP) courses offer students the opportunity to engage with material and expectations that mirror the rigor of college-level coursework. These courses require a significant commitment to reading, research, study, and independent learning. AP courses are appropriate for students who are academically prepared for this level of challenge and are interested in pursuing college-level work while in high school.
Dual Credit Courses
Dual credit courses allow qualified students to earn both high school and college credit while completing coursework during the school day on the ACA campus. Courses are offered through various institutions, taught by ACA instructors or completed online. These courses provide students with an opportunity to experience college-level academics while still benefiting from the support and community of their high school environment. Students must meet both the ACA dual-credit criteria and the institution's admission requirements to enroll.
Serving Others
Learning at ACA extends beyond the classroom. All high school students have the privilege of participating in approved community service as an expression of their faith and commitment to others. Students complete a minimum of 25 hours of service each year, for a total of 100 hours over four years, providing opportunities to be a light in their community and share the love of Christ through service.
